This car won the prestigious Knoxville Nationals in 1976 with Eddie Leavitt behind the wheel after finishing second in the 1974 race with driver Jan Opperman. Both drivers, especially Jan Opperman, won many races in this car. Other drivers of the 4J include: Roger Rager, Tom Corbin, Shane Carson, Gary Patterson and Jimmy Stills.
This fiery orange beast of a Sprint Car features a 1974 Maxwell chassis, built by John A. Singer, and a 350 C.I. Chevrolet engine with Hilborn injection.
To this day, the 4J still holds non-wing records at tracks in Belleville, Kansas and Reading, Pennsylvania. It has been called “one of the truly legendary outlaw haulers of all time.”
